Why Use Our Image to GIF Maker?

Drag-to-Reorder Frames

Each uploaded image becomes a numbered frame in a responsive grid. Drag any thumbnail to a new position and the GIF playback order updates instantly. Click the × on any frame to remove it, or click Add More to append additional images at any time. Frame numbers and original dimensions are visible at a glance.

Smart Size Handling

When your frames have different dimensions, the tool automatically detects the mismatch and lets you choose how to handle it: Scale Fit (resize to match, fastest), Letterbox (center with white padding to preserve aspect ratio), or Center Crop (crop overflow to the smallest frame for no padding). The output is always a uniform-size GIF.

Custom Timing & Looping

Set the per-frame delay from 50 ms (super fast) to 5000 ms (slow slideshow). Pick a custom output width, height auto-calculates from your chosen size mode, or leave it blank for original dimensions. Set loop count from 0 (infinite, default) to any specific number of plays.

Private, No Upload

Your images never leave your device. The tool uses GIF builder, a JavaScript GIF encoder that runs entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. No file is sent to any server, no account is needed, and nothing is stored. The downloaded GIF is generated locally and saved directly to your device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about making GIFs from images online.

How many images can I add to one GIF?
There is no hard limit, but practical browser memory limits start to bite somewhere between 50 and 200 frames depending on image dimensions. For smooth animation aim for 10-30 frames. For long sequences with smaller dimensions you can go higher. If encoding fails or stalls, try fewer frames or a smaller output width.
Which size mode should I pick?
Scale Fit is best when your frames have similar aspect ratios, it just resizes everything to match the first frame. Letterbox preserves the original aspect ratio of every frame and pads the edges with white, best when frames have very different shapes. Center Crop removes overflow to fit the smallest frame, best for tight, no-padding output.
Why is my GIF file size so large?
GIFs use a 256-color palette per frame and store every pixel of every frame, so file size grows quickly with both dimensions and frame count. Reduce the GIF Width to halve or quarter the resolution, increase the frame delay so you need fewer frames per second, and remove any near-duplicate frames. WebP and MP4 produce far smaller animations if your platform supports them.
Does the tool upload my images to a server?
No. Both image loading and GIF encoding run entirely client-side using GIF builder and the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images are never transmitted to any server. The downloaded GIF file is generated locally on your device and saved directly to your downloads folder.
