Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about cloning websites and using this tool.

Can I clone any website with this tool?
The tool can clone any publicly accessible website. Pages that require a login, use heavy JavaScript rendering (SPAs), or are protected by bot-detection (e.g. Cloudflare) may not clone completely, as only the server-rendered HTML is captured.
How many pages can be cloned?
When "Clone All Pages" is enabled, the tool follows internal links up to a limit of 50 pages to prevent timeouts and oversized downloads. For single-page use, there is no limit beyond the one page you enter.
Will the cloned site work offline?
Yes, all asset paths (CSS, JS, images, fonts) are rewritten to relative paths so the site opens correctly from your local file system. Enable all asset options for the best offline experience.
Why might some images or styles be missing?
Assets loaded dynamically via JavaScript (lazy loading, JS-driven CSS-in-JS) are not captured since the tool fetches raw HTML. Background images defined in inline styles may also be missed. Only assets referenced in the initial HTML and CSS files are downloaded.
Is it legal to clone a website?
Cloning your own website for backup or migration purposes is always fine. Cloning third-party websites may be subject to copyright law and the site's terms of service. This tool is intended for legitimate use cases such as archiving, offline access, migration research, and competitive analysis of publicly visible markup.
