Rotate or Tilt to the Exact Degree

Quick 90-degree rotations fix sideways phone photos. Fine-degree tilts straighten horizons in landscape shots without re-shooting. Both flows finish in seconds with a transparent PNG export.

Used by real-estate photographers correcting tilted listings, and travel bloggers fixing subtle camera-shake leans.

Why Use Our Image Rotator Tool?

Smart Canvas Resizing

When you rotate an image to an angle that is not a multiple of 90°, the bounding box needs to grow to contain the full rotated image without cropping any corners. The tool automatically calculates the new canvas width and height using trigonometry so your entire image is always visible after rotation.

Fine Rotation Slider

The fine rotation slider gives you precise control from -180° to +180° in 1° increments. Drag it to straighten a crooked horizon, correct a tilted portrait, or apply a creative diagonal tilt. The canvas updates live as you drag so you can see the exact result before downloading.

Rotate, Flip & Combine

Use the quick action buttons to rotate 90° left or right in one click, or flip the image horizontally and vertically. All transformations stack together, you can rotate 90° right and then fine-tune with the slider, or combine rotation with a horizontal flip for a mirror effect. The canvas re-draws instantly on every change.

Private, No Upload

Your image never leaves your device. All rotation and flip operations run entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. No file is sent to a server, no account is needed, and nothing is stored anywhere. The downloaded PNG is generated locally from the canvas and saved directly to your device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about rotating and flipping images online.

Does the image rotator upload my photo to a server?
No. The entire tool runs in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your image is loaded into a canvas element on your device and never transmitted to any server. The downloaded PNG file is generated locally and saved directly to your device without any network request.
Why does the image get larger when I rotate it at an angle?
When you rotate an image to a non-90° angle, the rotated rectangle no longer fits inside the original canvas dimensions. To avoid cropping the corners, the tool automatically expands the canvas using trigonometry, calculating the new width and height as the sum of the image dimensions weighted by sin and cos of the rotation angle. This preserves the full image content.
Can I combine rotation with flipping?
Yes. The quick action buttons and the fine rotation slider all apply together on the same canvas draw. You can rotate left 90°, flip horizontally, and then fine-tune with the slider, all three transforms are applied simultaneously in the correct order. The canvas re-renders on every change so you always see the combined result.
What image formats can I upload and download?
The tool accepts any image format your browser supports via the File API, typically JPG, PNG, and WebP. The downloaded result is always a PNG file. The transparent areas created by non-90° rotation appear as white in most image viewers since PNG supports transparency but many apps display it on a white background.
