How to sign a PDF in your browser

1

Upload your PDF

Drag and drop the PDF onto the upload area, or click "Choose PDF File". The PDF is read into your browser memory immediately. Nothing is sent over the network.

2

Create your signature

Pick a tab in the sidebar: Draw to sign with mouse or finger, Type to use a cursive font, or Image to upload a signature you scanned. The preview updates as you go.

3

Place it on the page

Click "Place on Page", then click anywhere on the visible page. The signature appears at that point. Drag to reposition, drag the bottom-right corner to resize, or use the slider in the sidebar.

4

Sign more pages if needed

Use the Page navigation arrows at the top of the preview to switch pages. Each page can hold one or more signatures.

5

Download

Click "Download Signed PDF". A signed copy lands in your downloads folder. The original PDF on your device is not modified.

Why sign your PDF in the browser?

Most online PDF signing tools ask you to upload your contract, NDA, or agreement to their server before adding your signature. For documents that often contain bank details, addresses, social security numbers, or signed legal terms, that is a real privacy concern. Once your file leaves your device, you depend on the service to delete it, store it safely, and never look at it.

The Sign PDF tool on Pixellize works differently. The PDF is read into your browser memory, your signature is added there, and the signed file is downloaded directly from the same browser tab. No part of the document or your signature ever travels to a server. There is nothing on our side to leak, log, or hand over.

You can sign with three methods. Draw your signature with mouse or finger on a touch screen. Type your name and pick a cursive font that looks handwritten. Or upload a signature image you scanned earlier. Place the signature on any page, drag it to the right spot, resize it with a slider or by dragging the corner, then download.

Why use this PDF signer

Your PDF never leaves the browser

Signing happens entirely on your device. No upload, no temporary storage on a server, no third-party processing. Open the dev tools network panel to verify, zero outgoing requests.

Three ways to sign

Draw with mouse or finger, type your name in a cursive font, or upload a scanned signature image. Mix and match across pages.

Drag and resize anywhere

Click on the page to place, drag to reposition, drag the corner to resize. The slider in the sidebar gives finer control. Multiple signatures per PDF are supported.

Works across all pages

Navigate between pages with the prev/next buttons. Sign one page, both pages, or every page. Each signature can live on a different page.

No signup, no watermark

No account to create, no email to verify, no watermark on the signed output. Free, every time, with no daily caps.

Unlimited signing

Sign as many PDFs as you want at any size. The only limit is your device memory, which for everyday contracts is essentially unlimited.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about signing PDFs, signature methods, and privacy.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server when I sign it?
No. The PDF is parsed in your browser using local JavaScript. Your file and your signature never leave your device. You can confirm by opening dev tools and watching the network tab while you sign.
Is a typed or drawn signature legally valid?
In most countries, a typed name or a drawn signature on a PDF qualifies as an electronic signature for everyday contracts. For documents that require a digital certificate or notarization, you will need a dedicated e-signature service. Check your local laws for high-stakes agreements.
Can I add my signature to multiple pages?
Yes. Use the page navigation arrows to switch pages. Each page can hold one or more signatures. The tool tracks all placements and applies them in one go when you download.
What if my signature is the wrong size?
Drag the bottom-right corner of the placed signature to resize, or use the size slider in the sidebar. The signature keeps its aspect ratio so it never gets squashed.
Can I sign a password-protected PDF?
You will need to remove the password first using a tool like our Unlock PDF, then sign the unlocked copy. The signing tool refuses to read encrypted files as a safety measure.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. You can draw a signature with your finger directly on the screen, then drag it onto the PDF page. The download saves to your phone or tablet storage.
Will the signed PDF have a watermark?
No. The output is a clean PDF with only your signature added. No "signed by Pixellize" marks, no overlays, no branding.
