How to view dislikes on a YouTube video
Copy the YouTube video URL
Open the video on YouTube, then copy the URL from the address bar. Full URLs, youtu.be short links, embeds, and Shorts links all work.
Paste it into the box above
Drop the URL into the input field. The tool also accepts an 11-character video ID on its own if you already have it.
Click Look up
Your browser fetches the data directly from the public dislike-tracking service. Nothing passes through a Pixellize server. The result usually appears in under one second.
Read the numbers
You will see the like count, the estimated dislike count, the view count, the 1-5 star rating, and a visual ratio bar showing what share of votes were positive.
Why is the YouTube dislike count hidden?
YouTube removed the public dislike count from videos in November 2021 to protect creators from coordinated dislike campaigns. The data still exists internally, but it is no longer visible to viewers or shown through the public API.
Community projects fill that gap by collecting opt-in votes from browser-extension users who choose to share their like and dislike clicks. Those votes get aggregated into an estimate for every video. The estimate is rarely exact, but for popular videos with thousands of opted-in voters, it lands close enough to give you a clear sense of audience reception.
This tool simply queries that public estimation service from your browser and shows you the numbers. Nothing is sent to a Pixellize server, and you do not need to install anything.

Frequently asked questions
Are the dislike numbers exact?
No. YouTube made the real dislike count private in November 2021. The numbers shown here come from a community estimation service that aggregates votes from opted-in browser-extension users. For popular videos the estimate is usually within a few percent of the true number, but it is not authoritative.
Does this tool work for unlisted or private videos?
No. The community estimator only has data for public videos that opted-in extension users have actually visited. Unlisted videos that were never visited by an extension user will not return data, and private videos are never indexed.
Why does the result say "no data" for some videos?
Either the video is too new and the estimator has not collected enough votes yet, the video is age-restricted, the video has been deleted, or the estimation service is temporarily unavailable. Try again after a few minutes.
Does Pixellize store the URLs I look up?
No. Lookups happen directly from your browser to the public estimation service. Pixellize does not see the video URL, the result, or any other part of your activity.
Why did YouTube hide the dislike count in the first place?
YouTube announced in late 2021 that public dislikes were being hidden to reduce coordinated harassment of small creators. The dislike button is still there for viewers to click, but the running total is no longer shown publicly.
Can I view dislikes on a YouTube Short?
Yes. Paste a Shorts URL into the input box and the tool will pull the same kind of estimate as it does for regular videos.
