Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about title tags and meta descriptions.

What is the ideal title tag length?
Google typically displays the first 50-60 characters of a title tag in search results. Titles between 30 and 60 characters are considered optimal for both visibility and click-through rate. Titles longer than 60 characters may be truncated with an ellipsis.
What is the ideal meta description length?
Meta descriptions between 70 and 155 characters work best. Google may truncate descriptions longer than 155-160 characters on Desktop and around 120 characters on Mobile. Very short descriptions miss the opportunity to describe the page and include relevant keywords.
Does Google always use my meta description?
Not always. Google may replace your meta description with other content from the page if it thinks a different snippet better matches the search query. Writing a clear, keyword-rich, unique description improves the likelihood that Google will use yours as written.
Why does the tool show an error for my URL?
The URL may block external requests or bots, require a login, return a non-200 HTTP status code, or be temporarily unavailable. Make sure the full URL is entered including https:// and that the page is publicly accessible without authentication.
